I have very much loved and valued being a part of the ACoP Trainee Communication Challenge since its inception in 2020. Each year, 12 trainees with accepted abstracts are randomly selected to participate in this event.  They are given the opportunity to present their initial draft at a “bootcamp” in front of a panel of experts to get feedback, and then are assigned a coach to help them get ready for the big event at ACoP!  At ACoP11 in 2020, it started simple: 5 minutes and 5 slides, but each year the challenges have gotten twistier: no slides allowed, no text allowed (only graphics), and the toughest one ever, doing someone ELSE’s presentation, with only 10 minutes to prepare (!!).
I am incredibly impressed by how the trainees have stepped up and handled the twists that we have thrown at them with creativity and enthusiasm- I’m excited to see what the committee comes up with for next year!!  A special thanks to Peter Bonate and the Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics, which sponsors this event and provides a $500 prize to the top 4 trainees!  Thank you to all of the bootcamp panelists, judges, and of course, the brave trainees who accepted the challenge during the last 5 years!
The winning 2020 team and their proud coach, yours truly! The Talkin’ Tannenbombers 🙂
